Denny’s in Langhorne — the last remaining location in Bucks County — has shuttered its doors.

This latest closure means Moons over My Hammy fans will have to travel to the Lehigh Valley, Delaware County or New Jersey to find their favorite breakfast sandwich.

News of its closing was subtle with a sign posted on the front door notifying customers the restaurant — located on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown — had permanently closed.

The Denny's media team confirmed in an email Tuesday that the Langhorne location officially closed on June 19.

"Deciding to close a restaurant is never an easy decision but it is a normal business practice. Denny’s has 34 other locations in Pennsylvania. We’d like to thank our team members and local community for their love of the Denny’s brand," the email read.

The Langhorne location is one of more than two dozen Denny’s that have closed across the casual dining chain this year.

According to a quarterly earnings report issued in April , a total of five Denny’s opened, while 25 locations closed in the first quarter. This follows the closing of 57 locations in 2023 and 60 in 2022, according to the company’s 2023 annual report .

During a 2023 fourth quarter earnings conference call in February, Robert Verostek, Denny’s executive vice president and chief financial officer, pointed to inflation when asked what led to the closures, adding that a restaurant’s breakeven point to remain open, which had previously been $1 million, had increased to $1.2 million.

“So, we are continuing to work through some additional closures as a result of those inflationary pressures,” he said.

As of March 27, the Denny's brand had 1,553 locations, according to its website.

Denny’s Corporation also consists of the Keke’s Breakfast Café brand, which the company acquired in 2022 and has more than 60 locations in Florida and Tennessee.
