    Three Bucks County area girls' wrestlers bring home medals from rugged Fargo tournament

    Conwell-Egan rising junior Julia Horger was the top local girls' finisher at the prestigious U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16-and-under wrestling Nationals in Fargo, N.D., as she captured a gold medal Sunday.

    Horger, who went 22-0 last season and won a PIAA title at 106 pounds, scored a 9-6 decision over California's Martee Solomon to claim her Fargo gold medal at 106 in the 16-and-under freestyle classification.

    Souderton's Atkinson, Palisades' Witt also win medals

    Souderton rising sophomore MacKenna Atkinson also earned a medal as she placed fifth at 235 pounds, also in the 16-and-under classification.

    In the Junior freestyle event, Palisades rising senior Savannah Witt placed second at 120 pounds. Witt went 31-0 during the scholastic season and won a PIAA title at 118.

    The medal rounds for the boys in both Junior and 16-and-under freestyle will be held Wednesday in Fargo.
