    Power outages may last til Saturday in parts of Upper Bucks— which roads are still closed?

    More than 500 buildings in Nockamixon Township may remain without power into the weekend, according to the latest estimates from FirstEnergy. The utility company's outage map shows that a swath of the township, mostly around Rock Ridge Road, may not see electricity restored until Saturday night.

    Which roads are still closed?

    A public works staffer at Nockamixon Township confirmed Friday morning that the road closures listed on the website are up to date. That closure list is below. This news organization also noted several other closures in the area, including at Clay Ridge and Geigel Hill roads, where Clay Ridge Road is blocked off with a road closed sign. Electrical wires appear to be strewn across Clay Ridge Road at multiple points.

    • Lonely Cottage between Bridgeton Line to Marienstein Road
    • Marienstein Road between 611 and Lonely Cottage Road (Use caution from Marienstein Rd - areas are single lane only.)
    • Park Drive East between Frogtown Road and Route 412
    • Perry Auger Road between Strocks Grove Road and Stanley Road
    • Rock Ridge between Marienstein and Strocks Grove Road
    • Stanley Road at Old Forge
    • Strocks Grove Road between Perry Auger and Rock Ridge
    • Tabor Road between Easton Road and the Dead End

    Was it a tornado in Bucks County Pa?

    The wind damage was caused not by a tornado, but a microburst, according to Ray Martin at the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey.

    The thunderstorm that rolled in with cool air Tuesday evening dropped extremely quickly, due to the excessive heat in the area. This led to widespread wind damage.

    Tinicum Township Police Department reported multiple road closures Tuesday night, as downed trees and telephone poles scattered the area. An alert from Bucks County asked motorists to avoid Upper Black Eddy and Erwinna and said crews were enroute to clear damage.

    "Tinicum Township has significant damage to major power lines, and substations following last night storm. Several roadways in the Erwinna and Upper Black Eddy area are in impassable," the message read.
