1 of 2 prisoners who escaped Abraxas Academy in Berks County in custody, police say
BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- One of the prisoners who escaped from Abraxas Academy in Berks County over the weekend was taken into custody on Monday night, police said. Tyler Lutz, 18, was taken into custody in Bucks County, the Caernarvon Township Police Department said. The other escaped prisoner, a 16-year-old, is still on the run. Pennsylvania State Police said Lutz will be charged with escape in Berks County. Before the escape, police said Lutz and the 16-year-old were last seen at the juvenile detention center Saturday at around 4 p.m. Authorities didn't specify why the two males were at Abraxas but said they were able to break out of the facility by climbing over a fence. Pennsylvania State Police are handling the investigation into the escape.Last year in September, nine juveniles escaped from Abraxas following a riot, but they were taken back into custody one day later.

Police capture Reading teen who escaped Berks youth detention center
One of two juvenile offenders who escaped from the Abraxas Academy youth detention facility in New Morgan has been captured, according to Caernarvon Township police. Tyler Lutz, 18, of Reading, was taken into custody Monday night in Bucks County, according to an update posted on the Crimewatch website and shared on the department’s Facebook page. Details of the arrest were not immediately available.

Detention center escapee caught while trying to blend in with carnival workers, Pa. state police say
One of two teens who broke out of a detention center in Berks County over the weekend was apprehended on Monday.The other is still at large and may be hiding in Bucks County, authorities say.Tyler Lutz, 18, from Reading, and 16-year-old Dustin Lomas from Bristol Township escaped from Abraxas Academy in New Morgan Borough on Saturday night.Police say Lutz was taken into custody after being spotted by a Tullytown Borough police officer.Lutz was at a local carnival and was trying to blend in with carnival employees, state police said.He was taken into custody without incident.Authorities now believe Lomas may also be in the Bucks County area.Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the police.Last September, nine teenagers broke out of the juvenile detention center but were all taken back into custody during a 10-hour search.
Two local police departments participating in aggressive driving crackdown
PennDOT announced on July 8th that more than 80 municipal police departments from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties will join the Pennsylvania State Police in a coordinated aggressive driving enforcement wave focusing on heavy truck violations, pedestrian safety, red light running, and tailgating. Drivers exhibiting unsafe behaviors, such as driving too fast for conditions or other aggressive actions, will also be cited.
