A Philadelphia woman has been bound over for trial in the murder of a Wrightstown Township man after a preliminary hearing in Bucks County, officials reported Thursday. Meghan Macklin, aged 46, is accused of the October killing of 72-year-old Richard Scott MacFarland at his residence located at 55 Apple Hill Road. The case progressed after compelling video and photographic evidence alongside law enforcement testimonies were presented in court, hinting at a lethal crescendo in what has been described as a sometimes friendly though volatile relationship between Macklin and the deceased.

Doylestown Health's proposed merger into the University of Pennsylvania Health System is progressing, with the leaders of both organizations saying they expect a definitive agreement to be signed in the next few weeks.<\p> The two health care providers signed a letter of intent to pursue a merger in January. Since that time, Doylestown Health in Bucks County and the Philadelphia-based Penn Health System have been conducting due diligence to determine whether and how to proceed with the union.<\p>
Two Women in Separate Incidents, Each with Probation Warrants Set off License Plate Reader Notifications Jailed
Back to back arrests of two women with arrest warrants whose license plates set off notifications to police were jailed in separate incidents earlier this week. According to police, on July 15 just before 7 pm., an officer on patrol on the 200 block S. Main street was notified of a hit via the automatic license plate reader on a vehicle with a registration suspended for insurance cancellation. The officer then observed the same vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the subject vehicle. Upon confirming that the operator of the vehicle had an active arrest warrant issued by Bucks County Adult Probation, the officer arrested the 42-year-old woman from Yardley on the warrant. The woman was processed and remanded to Bucks County Prison. The vehicle was released to a family member. Additional motor vehicle violations may be filed.

A woman was ordered to stand trial Thursday for the murder of a 72-year-old man in Wrightstown Township in October, said the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Meghan Macklin, 46, of Philadelphia, was charged in March with the murder of Richard Scott MacFarland in his home at 55 Apple Hill Road. She was taken into custody in Tennessee after fleeing the area in the victim’s car.
