(Front row): Katherine Hanlon, Kassidy Shaw, Sydney White, Katharine Catalano, Nina Harris, and Jennifer Ackert. </p><p>A group of <a href="https://bucksco.today/tag/Bucks-County/">Bucks County</a> students participated in this year’s <a href="https://bucksco.today/tag/Foundations-Community-Partnership/">Foundations Community Partnership’s</a> Summer Youth Corps, which offered them a 10-week, paid internship experience at the nonprofit that serves local children, young adults, and families, writes Jeff Werner for the <i>Patch</i>.</p><p>Thirteen students got the chance to gain practical experience over the summer and made a positive impact in the community. They also earned college credit through the program’s partnership with <a href="https://bucksco.today/tag/Bucks-County-Community-College/">Bucks County Community College</a>.</p><p>The program, which concluded on August 2, was supported by Program Supervisor <a href="https://bucksco.today/tag/Patrick-Reynolds/">Patrick Reynolds</a>.</p><p>“This experience has opened my eyes to the world of nonprofits and the various things they do throughout the county,” he said. “It has been a joy to witness how this experience has impacted the personal and professional growth of the interns.”</p><p>SYC combines meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to improve the learning experience, promote civic responsibility, and build stronger communities.
