Maine’s first aviation maintenance technician school set to take off
The University of Maine at Augusta is launching the state’s first aviation maintenance technician (AMT) school. Until now, Maine has been one of only three states without a program, with aviation employers saying they’ve had to rely on recruiting skilled workers from out of state, university officials said.

Luxury Yacht “Kisses” Returns to Bar Harbor for 4th Year in a Row
For the 4th year in a row, the luxury yacht "Kisses" has returned to Bar Harbor. Norman Braman was the owner of the NFL Philadelphia Eagles, before selling the team to Jeffrey Lurie who bought the team in 1994 for $195 million. Braman's yacht "Kisses" was in Bar Harbor in August of 2021 and late July - early August 2022 and in 2023. She was tied up at the Bar Harbor pier on Monday and Tuesday, July 29th and 30th, 2024.

MONSON — Twelve members of the Piscataquis Region Retired Educators Association and two guests met July 23 at the Lakeshore Pub in Monson for the monthly meeting. Portland drug dealer sentenced to 7 years in prison
PORTLAND (WGME) -- A Portland man will spend seven years behind bars after he was caught on camera selling meth and fentanyl in two separate instances. A judge sentenced 39-year-old Tyler Campbell on Tuesday to seven years in prison followed by four years of supervised release for distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl and possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He was also ordered to forfeit $2,189 in drug proceeds found in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Couple killed in Bangor crash after police chase loved each other, family says
The couple killed in a Bangor car crash following a police chase loved each other deeply, even if they weren’t supposed to be in contact. Noah Mushero, 39, of Bangor and Sheena Soctomah-Rolfe, 39, of Orono died in a crash on Finson Road following a chase by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office on July 22. There was an active warrant for Soctomah-Rolfe for alleged drug trafficking, and it was the second police chase the pair were involved in within two days, Bangor police said previously.
