The Level Up Digital Art Show will be held 6-7 p.m. July 31 at the Bucyrus Public Library.

The show will feature an array of 3D-printed projects, animated videos and printed digital art teens created during the library’s Summer Reading Program and Ready for Hire Create Camp. Attendees will be able to engage with the artistic process firsthand by testing some of the resources the Ready for Hire participants used such as Tinkercad, a platform for 3D printing, and Procreate, a digital art application.

"The work included in the show represents a month and a half of tremendous effort from the participants,” said Kolter Kiess, teen services manager. “I'm extremely proud of the work the teens created and happy that − thanks to our wonderful partners − the library had the opportunity to offer these programs to young adults in Crawford County."

Ready for Hire Level Up is a career-readiness program for students in grades 9-12, but the Bucyrus Public Library has used its resources to expand the program to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The program aims to provide students with career skills such as animation, Photoshop, 3D printing, music production, digital illustration/design and more.

The Level Up Digital Art Show is an integral part of the program, as it provides a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity. Moreover, it is a chance for the community to come together and appreciate the power of art while learning about the program and how it benefits the youth and employers in Crawford County.

Students interested in participating in the Ready for Hire after-school program may report to the Bucyrus Public Library in person to sign up as the program continues to take on new students.
