The Bucyrus Public Library is celebrating the success of its summer cooking classes for children ages 8-15, which took place in June and July. The hands-on sessions allowed participants to explore a variety of American cuisines while developing culinary skills in a fun and educational environment.

Under the guidance of Kerri Eidson from the Ohio State University (OSU) Extension Office, the kids had the opportunity to create dishes and learn cooking techniques.

Two sessions had talented the chefs whipping up taco salad and fruit salsa with cinnamon chips, chicken noodle soup and peach cobbler, and five-way Cincy chili with apple buckeye nachos.

The library will host its final round of cooking classes 2-4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. The session will focus on afterschool snacks, offering recipes for the young chefs to master. Participation is limited to 10 children aged 8-15, and registration is required. Kids who participated in earlier sessions are welcome to join again.

Parents and guardians can register children by stopping into the library or calling Barb at 419-562-7327, Ext. 104, to reserve a spot.
