Former Southern Alumni Federation president dies, university says
BATON ROUGE - The national president of the Southern University Alumni Federation from 2010 to 2014 died, according to the university. The university announced the passing of Dennis S. Brown Saturday morning. Brown was raised in Alexandria, LA, and graduated from Southern in 1976.
BRCC cuts ribbon for new on-campus restaurant
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Community College hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new on-campus restaurant Tre’s Street Kitchen Friday afternoon. Tre’s Street Kitchen has specialized in on-campus dining for the Greater Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas since 2020. The opening comes just two weeks after the beginning of BRCC’s fall semester.
Black Bayou hosting Louisiana National Hunting and Fishing Day
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge will be one of the hosts for Louisiana’s National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHFD). NHFD will be held on September 28 at Waddill Wildlife Refuge in Baton Rouge, Woodworth Shooting Range in Woodworth, the Tom Merrill Recreation Area at Bodcau Wildlife Management Area in Haughton, and Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Monroe.
