    Multiple fires and a power outage caused by downed power line in Buellton Tuesday

    BUELLTON, Calif. – Firefighters responded to a quarter-acre vegetation fire and two other smaller fires caused by a downed power line that fell on a metal fence near Pamela Way and Industrial Way in Buellton Tuesday.

    No injuries or structure damage was reported shared the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

    According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, three fires were sparked when an energized line dropped onto metal fences.

    The largest fire was a quarter acre, the second was a 100 foot by 200 foot fire, and the third was a 10 foot by 10 foot spot fire detailed the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

    Forward progress of the flames on the largest fire was stopped at 6:12 p.m. detailed the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

    A widespread power outage was reported in the area near the fire response, initially showing 2,542 customers without power detailed the Pacific Gas and Electric Company's outage map .

    Pacific Gas and Electric representatives reported late Tuesday night that just a few hundred customers remained without power and the issue was resolved by Wednesday morning.
