Colorado Department of Revenue blames 'historic number of returns' for tax refund delays
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — When Arthur Scott Jr.’s wife passed away suddenly in late 2023, he wanted to be sure he managed taxes right. So he went to a tax professional, printed a paper tax return as required by state law and mailed the return to the state in late March.
Proposed trade has Broncos dumping star receiver to Cowboys
If the Denver Broncos believed their roster was as bad as some pundits out there seem to believe, we might actually see a Courtland Sutton trade before the start of the 2024 season. Unfortunately for all of the roster rankers out there, that doesn't appear to be happening. Until Sutton...
Every Opening and Closing This Week: Aussie Cafe Two Hands Debuts on Tennyson and More
Coming off a busy June for the local dining scene, July kicked off with a trio of new restaurants. Two Hands — not to be confused with the Korean corndog chain of the same name — debuted its first Colorado location. The Australian cafe got its start in New York City a decade ago and soon expanded to Tennessee and Texas. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner "rooted in local sourcing to ensure a sustainable and delicious dining experience," according to the company. The menu includes such entrees as a salmon quinoa bowl, pesto cavatelli, pan-roasted chicken and steak au poivre.
Denver Broncos MVP for 2024 isn't exactly who you might expect
Coming into the 2024-2025 season, the Denver Broncos might finally be heading in the right direction for the first time since Super Bowl 50. They've found their coach in Sean Payton. They've made a lottery draft selection on a quarterback in Bo Nix. Ownership has shown complete faith in their hiring of Payton by letting him cut Russell Wilson and select Bo Nix a month later. That said, someone needs to step up and be the undisputed leader of this team. The one singular voice that everyone respects and listens to. The team's MVP. Who is that?
Crowds at Denver area metro parks put pressure on surrounding areas
On a perfect Fourth of July day, the crowds showed up early at Bear Creek Lake Park. "Super busy. Great place to be for the 4th of July though," said Diana Nicholas who joined friends to walk into the park after it had reached capacity by 8:40. The park run by the City of Lakewood reaches capacity at 1000 cars and about 3000 people. This July 4th however was a big one. "Everybody out here is loving it. Being all together as one," said Omar Belgado who was at the packed beach at Soda Lakes. "It's been crowded yeah. Ever...
Broncos HC believes formerly injured RB will finally be at 'full speed'
Last season, the Broncos finished in the bottom half of the league in rushing attempts, yards per carry and rushing touchdowns.Head coach Sean Payton knows that must change with two unproven quarterbacks in Zach Wilson and first-round rookie Bo Nix."Our tight red zone was awful," Payton said, via Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "Our opportunities, I think, were decent ... [but] inside the 10, first-and-goal-to-go, that wasn't good enough. ... That's unusual, that bothered me a lot. Those are four-point swings, really, if you kick a field goal instead of scoring a touchdown."A big factor in Denver's success or lack thereof...

After her 100-mile triple-crown trail run sweep last summer, what will Courtney Dauwalter do for an encore?
In a 70-day span last summer, Courtney Dauwalter won (and set two course records) at Western States, Hardrock 100 and Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) — arguably the world’s three hardest and most prestigious 100-mile trail run events.
