CleanFiber raises $8.5 million to expand Buffalo facility
“Extremely strong” demand is driving CleanFiber to expand its Blasdell factory. The company has raised $8.5 million in venture capital to support that expansion. CleanFiber moved to Buffalo in 2017 after winning $500,000 in the 43North startup business competition (43North invested $300,000 in follow-on funding in CleanFiber in 2021). Other financial supporters locally include the Buffalo Angels and the Western New York Impact Investment Fund.
Bitwise chooses building owned by Douglas Jemal for East Side tech campus
Bitwise Industries has chosen a Sycamore Street building owned by Douglas Jemal as the long-term site for its technology campus in Buffalo. The 32,000-square-foot building at 368 Sycamore St. on Buffalo’s East Side will host Bitwise programs, including classrooms for training tech workers, offices for its software development company and spaces for ancillary services such as child care.
