Over the Falls Creamery serves something new in Niagara
The newest ice cream shop in the region is bringing in flavors from three distributors.<\p> Over the Falls Creamery opened in June at 2500 Military Road in Niagara Falls, formerly home to Western Regional OTB and Mister M’s bar/restaurant. The building was sold to an investment group led by Niagara Falls businessman Randy Sinatra and his brother Ryan in a deal that closed in January.<\p>

Visa, Mastercard 'swipe' fee settlement dealt a big blow
A nearly $30 billion settlement involving U.S. retailers and credit card giants Visa Inc. and Mastercard Inc. has been dealt a blow after a judge said it was unlikely she would approve the deal.<\p> During a June 13 hearing on preliminary approval of the proposed settlement involving “swipe” fees, U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of New York Margo Brodie said she was unlikely to sign off on the deal. Brodie issued a written order on the case on June 25, and while the order itself was sealed, the accompanying memorandum on the court docket stated that the "court finds that it is not likely to grant final approval to the Settlement and accordingly denies Plaintiffs' motion for preliminary settlement approval."<\p>
Catholic Health recruits from N.C. to fill first C-level nursing post
Catholic Health has named its first chief nursing officer.<\p> Catherine "Kate" Mohr will join the system in late July from Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, North Carolina, where she has served as CNO since 2021. She brings a 30-year background in health care, including posts in both academic medical centers and community hospitals.<\p>
$38.9M mixed-use building approved in Niagara Falls
Plans are moving forward for construction of a $38.9 mixed-use building with 73 apartment units in downtown Niagara Falls.<\p> The board of directors of the USA Niagara Development Corp., a subsidiary of state-run Empire State Development on Wednesday approved the general project plan for 333 First St.<\p>

M&T Bank Corp. Senior Executive Vice President Darren King is leaving the company after 24 years, according to a filing made Wednesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.<\p> The single-sentence announcement says King will "separate from the company effective Aug. 10."<\p>
Popular brewery to take over former Resurgence site
Britesmith Brewing is taking over a former brewery space in the City of Buffalo.<\p> The Williamsville craft brewery has signed a letter of intent with landlord Breeser Real Estate Enterprises Inc. for close to 14,000 square feet at 1250 Niagara St. The building previously housed Resurgence Brewing and most recently Twin Petrels, until the seltzery closed at year’s end. <\p>

Developer proposes changes for Costco site in Amherst
Changes could be coming to proposed plans for the Amherst Commerce Center, which includes Buffalo’s first Costco location.<\p> Property owner Benderson Development is seeking a modification of site plan approval for the project, located on nearly 62 acres of land between North Bailey Avenue, Meyer Road and the I-290. The proposal is part of the Amherst Planning Board’s agenda for tonight’s meeting. <\p>
