RiverWorks partner alleges unauthorized ownership changes in lawsuit
Developer Douglas Swift has sued Earl Ketry and other partners at Buffalo RiverWorks LLC, claiming breach of contract and unjust enrichment.<\p> The lawsuit, filed May 17 with the New York State Supreme Court in Erie County, alleged unauthorized changes in ownership interests and financial irregularities at the waterfront restaurant and event venue founded in 2013 by Swift and Ketry.<\p>

Homeowners continue to build equity, impacting future buying decisions
American homeowners continue to build significant equity even as the housing market has slowed and home prices aren't rising as rapidly as they did in recent years.<\p> U.S. homeowners with a mortgage pulled in $28,000 in equity gains on average year over year in the first quarter, the highest amount since late 2022, according to CoreLogic Inc. That average year-over-year increase of 9.6% translates to a collective gain of $1.5 trillion and means net homeowner equity totaled more than $17 trillion at the end of Q1.<\p>

Waterfront hotel to rebrand to build on brewery affiliation
With a multi-million renovation coming, the Clarion Hotel Conference Center on Lake Erie in Dunkirk will rebrand next year as Steelbound Hotel and Conference Center.<\p> The shift follows the 2022 opening of a Steelbound Brewery & Distillery franchise at the 30 Lake Shore Drive East site. The hotel’s owner is exploring opportunities for more unique design and amenities that aren’t always available under a national flag.<\p>

After months of teasing social media posts, it’s official: Parker’s Great British Institution is back in business with new owners and a new manufacturing site in Cheektowaga.<\p> Co-owners Michelle Potter and Emma Reynolds will begin taking orders to ship direct to customers at month’s end for the company’s famous sausage rolls, pork pies and steak and ale pie, using the same recipes.<\p>
