Westchester County-based Regan Development Corp. is planning a pair of affordable apartment projects in Dunkirk with a combined price tag of $34 million.<\p> The developer has proposed two three-story buildings with a combined 38 units.<\p>

Moog promotes corporate controller to new role, hires replacement
Moog made some leadership changes in finance roles this week. <\p> Michael Swope, who had been the aerospace company’s corporate controller and principal accounting officer for five years, took on the role of finance director of the Military Aircraft Group as of May 20, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. <\p>
Buffalo stays high on U.S. News' Best Places to Live for 2024-25
Buffalo has dropped a bit in the rankings, but we're still in a pretty good place on U.S. News and World Report's 2024-25 Best Places to Live: No. 34 out of 150.<\p> The new No. 1 is Naples, Florida, which last year came in at No. 6 on the list comparing 150 metros in the United States on value, desirability, job market and quality of life. The previous No. 1 — Green Bay, Wisconsin — dropped to No. 12.<\p>
Co-op dissolves lease in Williamsville due to lack of funding
Plans are off for a co-op market at 480 Evans St. in Williamsville.<\p> The Village Co-op Market of Williamsville board voted May 15 to dissolve its lease with Benderson Development after a capital campaign didn't get enough investment from the member-owners, according to Jim Walfrand, president of the co-op. <\p>

University's $7M solar project nears completion

Developer buys five Kenmore retail buildings for $2.35M
Developer Anthony Trusso has purchased five retail buildings on Delaware Avenue in Kenmore for a combined total of $2.35 million.<\p> Trusso's company, Delaware Retail LLC, purchased the units from developer Nick Sinatra's Kenmore Delaware Retail LLC, according to documents filed Friday in the Erie County clerk's office.<\p>

Investors could be launching a bit of a comeback in the U.S. housing market — although the reversal of fortunes comes amid a strategy shift for many investors in the face of low inventory. <\p> Purchases by investors grew 0.5% on a year-over-year basis in Q1, according to analysis by Redfin Corp. (Nasdaq: RDFN). Redfin defines an investor as any buyer whose name includes LLC, Inc., Trust, Corp. or Homes, or any buyer whose ownership code on a purchasing deed includes association, corporate trustee, company, joint venture or corporate trust.<\p>
Braymiller Market plans more changes downtown — including beer

Amherst hotel renovations top $15M under new owner
Just over a year after changing hands, the Buffalo Niagara Marriott is wrapping up a multi-million-dollar renovation of all 356 guest rooms and getting ready to tackle a banquet center redo.<\p> Both are part of an investment by Visions Hotels LLC expected to cost between $15 million and $25 million. That's more than the Corning-based company paid to buy the hotel through its Amherst Lodging Partners affiliate in a $14.4 million deal that closed in March 2023 following an online auction.<\p>

TGI Fridays to close in downtown Buffalo
Although it survived a recent round of companywide closures, TGI Fridays' downtown Buffalo location now appears to be closing at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Buffalo-Downtown.<\p> Buffalo Hotel Associates LLC, an affiliate of Visions Hotels Inc. – the company that owns the Holiday Inn – notified the City of Buffalo it plans to apply for a liquor license at the 601 Main St. site for a restaurant and full liquor license.<\p>
