Lockport Lawmaker Charged in Alleged Public Urination Incident

    2024-05-25

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — Lockport Alderman Mark Devine has been charged following a peculiar incident involving allegations of public urination outside his home.

Devine, a Republican, faces two counts of harassment in the second degree. Lockport Police Chief Steve Abbott confirmed the charges.

The incident, which occurred on April 11, was reported by a neighbor who claimed that Devine urinated outside his home, in view of children. The alleged victim subsequently signed a harassment violation.

After consulting with the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office, the case was forwarded to a city judge, who issued a criminal summons for Devine on the harassment charges.

Devine made his initial court appearance on Monday and is scheduled to return on June 3. Efforts to contact Devine for comment have so far been unsuccessful.
