Teamsters Local 264 Triumph: Strike Ends with Groundbreaking Deal at Tops Markets!

    2024-06-11

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In a triumphant return to work, members of Teamsters Local 264 have approved new four-year agreements with Tops, bringing an end to their brief strike.

"The ratified agreement provides industry-leading terms that exceed those agreed to in the past, while also ensuring our customers will continue to enjoy the service, selection, and value they’ve come to expect from Tops Markets," the company stated.

The strike, which began on Friday, concluded swiftly with a tentative agreement reached just two days later.

The previous contract, covering approximately 550 workers in maintenance, sanitation, warehouse, and transportation, expired on May 31. Earlier in May, workers had overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike, setting the stage for the recent negotiations.

On Sunday afternoon, the union announced a tentative deal, highlighting that it offers “financial security and protection of benefits without any concessions.” By Monday afternoon, after a vote, Tops confirmed that the agreement was finalized.

“I want to emphasize that this agreement has the full recommendation of our bargaining committee, who have worked tirelessly to secure the best possible outcome for our members,” Local 264 President Brian Dickman stated before the vote.

With the new agreement in place, both employees and customers can look forward to continued stability and service at Tops Markets.

Only the fat cat corrupt union bosses and paid organizers aka goons benefit from unionization. The lazy, incompetent bureaucrats of the NLRB are on the union’s payroll. Go union get screwed.
