Now that the dust has settled from the news that the Buffalo Bills were moving WR Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, the question is now who will Josh Allen be targeting heavily?

Buffalo is going to draft a wide receiver early, they almost have to . The Bills shouldn’t want to do any further damage to their cap situation with a big trade for a receiver.

Luckily for Buffalo, they have some prices in-house and they have one that stands out the most on the team right now.

Dalton Kincaid can now become that guy for the Bills

When the Bills selected Dalton Kincaid last season, it looked to be more of a luxury at the time and not a glaring need with Dawson Knox on the roster. Still, Kincaid stepped in and had a strong rookie season.

Now, the stock is going way up on Kincaid who is going to be asked to step into a bigger role. As a rookie, Kincaid caught 73 passes for 673 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kincaid was specifically strong to close out the regular season with back-to-back games over 80 yards receiving.

In 2023, Kincaid lined up in the slot a total of 236 times or 60 percent of the team’s snaps. A tight end who plays like a wide receiver with a smooth game is a match made in heaven for that guy who plays quarterback in Buffalo.

As Diggs is no longer with the Bills, Allen needs a new security blanket. Kincaid could be taking a big jump from his rookie season to his second season. When you look at what he did as a rookie with tempered expectations and not being a focal point of the offense, what do you think he can do when he’s being fed the ball?

A 1,000-yard season from Kincaid in year No. 2 could and should be on tap. For his career alone and nothing else, Diggs being traded may be the best thing that could have happened for Kincaid’s career.

OMG can the bills find a guy to replace the 34 catches, 315 yards and 1 td that Diggs contributed in his solo effort to will the team to a 6-1 record over the last 7 games, the toughest part of the schedule? Or, who do bless the field gods and mafia maniacs with 10 catches, 73 and 1 fumble during yet another epic playoff run? Guess it's time to start crying under a blanket of "4 straight losses" and "wide right" chants.
