PFF: Bills do not have top-32 wide receiver heading into 2024 season

The Buffalo Bills made some big changes after the end of the 2023 season as they looked to get younger and cheaper while still trying to compete for a Super Bowl. Some of those changes happened within the wide receiver corps as they traded away Stefon Diggs and let Gabe Davis walk in free-agency.

Thanks to those changes, the Bills do not have a wide receiver that ranks in the top-32 of the NFL, according to a recent list from Pro Football Focus (PFF). Granted, Buffalo has never had a star-studded wide receiving group, but in PFF’s rankings for last season, Diggs ranked fifth on the list.

With Diggs now a member of the Houston Texans, the Bills will need one, if not a few, of their pass-catchers to step up if they want to have a chance to get back to the AFC Championship game for the first time since the 2020 season. As long as Buffalo has Josh Allen at quarterback, Buffalo will have a chance of getting back to the playoffs, but they will definitely be devoid of some of its offensive firepower.

The pass-catchers that the Bills will be relying on are: rookie Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, free-agent acquisitions in Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and tight end Dalton Kincaid. It’s safe to say that if Buffalo wants to go anywhere next season, one of these players will have to be better than expected or the Bills will have a tough time passing the ball.
