Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A total of 43 restaurants and food trucks will be taking part in this weekend's Taste of Buffalo in Downtown Buffalo. They range from mild to wild, and some twists on local favorites.

"It's definitely going to be an exciting time, we're super excited," says Christian Gueth of Pierogi Pete's.

Gueth is offering up a hot honey bowl this year, along with other options like a loaded tots bowl, and a 716 Bowl, which feature toppings like bacon bits, cheese and sour cream.

With thousands of people showing up to Buffalo on an annual basis for the Taste of Buffalo, Gueth wants his restaurant to be among the best.

Amano Fresh Pasta returns for this year's festivities, and Phil Proto says he consistently had lines at his spot along Delaware Avenue. He does recall one mistake he made.

"We thought the close time was the same for both days, and we found out that wasn't the case, so we got more food. We think we have that out of the way," said Proto with WBEN.

Proto is serving rigatoni with marinara, rigatoni with Bolognese sauce, white cheddar sauce with jalapeno over cavatelli pasta, and a creamy mushroom sauce over gemelli pasta.

Carruba's Chicken Pit will be offering Nashville style hot chicken.

"Buffalo style, you're mostly getting a mix of Frank's Red Hot. But this is just our Nashville seasonings," says David Kelly while appearing on WBEN.

He says it's been a hectic month loading up on everything needed, including a crew for this weekend.

Another rookie to this year's festivities is Lime House Sushi and Ramen.

They're offering up this year a Cheeto shrimp burrito, which includes tempura shrimp, imitation crab, cream cheese, with Cheetos on the outside. Another item is crispy chicken ramen, which the restaurant says is a best seller.

The Taste of Buffalo runs from 11 a.m.-to-9 p.m. ET on Saturday, and 11 a.m.-to-7 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Several road closures will be in effect this weekend due to the festival. The full list is posted below.
