Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The second annual Casting Buffalo Actors Expos is returning to the Atrium at Rich's on August 3rd.

From noon until 7 p.m. (EST), attendees will have the opportunities to network, meet local casting directors, speak with professional acting and vocal coaches, attend a live stunt showcase from Robbins Stunt Team, attend business-of-acting seminars and acting workshops, and get professional headshots taken.

"We are teaming with Film Neighbor Network and Boring Buffalo,"
Casting Buffalo Co-Founder Kyle Mecca stated in an interview with WBEN. "Boring Buffalo is a photography collective and they have a bunch of local photographers to do headshots. Film Neighbor Network is going to be running that for the day, so you can go get professional headshots done right at the Expo. You do need a ticket to get in, or you can purchase the package ahead of time. You can sign up on the day; that is available to do."

Mecca also explained that although the expo is centered around learning and gaining experience, local actors have the opportunity to show what they're made of and audition for Buffalo's upcoming film festival.

"Buffalo's 48 Hour Film Festival is going to be there doing live auditions from 12:30 to three o'clock on the day. Any team part of the 48, who's still looking for actors, you can go right there and audition on the date for them. And then the next weekend is the 48 Hour Film Festival."

Attendees can interact and network with union crew members from International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.), reel editors, production house Buffalo Camera at Expressway Cinema Rentals, brand managers, spokespersons from area colleges and universities with theater and film programs, talent agencies, and The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), and Actors’ Equity representatives.

The expo will also feature multiple panel discussions and an exclusive Q&A featuring Buffalo theater & film legend, Stephen McKinley Henderson of Civil War (2024), Dune (2021), Lady Bird (2017), and Fences (2016). Civil War (2024), Dune (2021), Lady Bird (2017), and Fences (2016). Newly announced Buffalo born actor & guest speaker Daniel Croix of Manhunt, The Oval , and Love Victor. The expo will also be hosted by ALC Acting Studio owner & Hollywood actor Andrew Lewis Caldwell of How I Met Your Mother, iZombie, Henry Danger, Haunt (2019), and The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

"This is an opportunity like none other in the area. There's not many like this even regionally, or country wide, to have a chance to speak with industry experienced people," Mecca stated. "If you're new to this, or if you're someone who had been doing it for years, or now a you've retired and you're looking for a new career change or something to do, come there and have conversations."
