Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Audacy and the Buffalo Bills announced, on Tuesday, that Chris Brown has been officialy named the new full-time play-by-play voice of the Buffalo Bills starting in the 2024 season.

Brown has worked with the Bills since 2006, and becomes just the third full-time play-by-play announcer for the team in franchise history. He served as the interim play-by-play man of the Bills late in the 2022 season, and went on to call 24 games in that span - 18 regular season games and four postseason games.

It was announced back in May that longtime play-by-play man John Murphy was formally stepping away from his full-time role in the broadcast booth.

Over the years, Brown has gotten the chance to work closely with the likes of Van Miller and Murphy, gaining valuable broadcasting experience and knowledge from both Buffalo broadcasting icons.

"I think the best thing that 'Murph' taught me was you have to keep working at it. Just because you're doing it, doesn't mean you've arrived. It's a constant skill that you have to hone and try to improve as you move along. Nobody's perfect," said Brown on Tuesday during an appearance on the "Jeremy and Joe Show" on WGR. "There are little things that you know, you try to improve upon, and be hyperaware of in the moment. It's easier said than done with all the things that are going on in a football game. There are a lot of moving parts. You just try your best to master all of those so you can deliver the best broadcast possible, so all Bills fans can enjoy it."

Brown says he adopted Western New York as his home after moving to the region after graduating college.

"I moved to Buffalo 30 years ago almost to the day, July 14 1994, fresh out of school and all of that stuff. It was largely because I couldn't get a radio job down on Long Island, where I'm from originally. So I spent more than half my life here now, I consider myself a Buffalonian. I married a Buffalo girl, both my kids were born here. I've covered this team for almost 30 years now, but this was the end game," Brown said with Joe DiBiase.

Brown will continue to be paired with former Bills center Eric Wood, who provides color commentary on game days, as well as WGR Bills sideline reporter Sal Capaccio.

In addition to his role as the new play-by-play voice of the Bills, Brown will continue to serve as a team insider for WGR, and co-host "One Bills Live" alongside Bills legend Steve Tasker every weekday from 1-to-3 p.m. ET on the station.

"I am very happy for Chris," said Murphy in a team statement. "His knowledge of the team and his enthusiasm is unsurpassed. Bills fans will certainly identify with the way he calls the games and his excitement."
