Watch: Bills rookie WR makes ridiculous toe-tap TD grab in training camp

After trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans this offseason, the Buffalo Bills need Keon Coleman to become their No. 1 wide receiver. The rookie is already showcasing his skills in training camp.

On Wednesday, the Bills X account posted a clip of Coleman making a phenomenal toe-tap touchdown catch despite tight coverage from cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram. The referees in practice initially ruled Coleman out of bounds, but a photograph showed he completed the catch.

Replacing Diggs is a significant challenge. In four seasons with Buffalo, the 30-year-old made four Pro Bowls and registered 445 receptions for 5,372 yards and 37 touchdown catches . Still, Coleman could form a dynamic tandem with Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

"Keon Coleman showed at Florida State he can win," ESPN's Louis Riddick said Monday on "One Bills Live." "And he can win because he's a high riser. He's a former basketball player and has great tracking skills. That sounds like what Josh Allen would love to have. So, I'm fired up about it."

Josh Reed of WVIB-TV in Buffalo noted that Coleman had several reps with the starting offense during Wednesday's practice and played well. Allen indicated the second-round pick must improve, but he's making solid progress.

"He moved well in some of the scramble drill stuff that we did," Allen told the media . "A guy that, again, he's learning. I think today, it was some lightning stuff, quick stuff going at him, and he took it in stride. Understood the assignment that he had throughout practice. Just day by day, we're trying to stack good days here."

If Coleman keeps making spectacular catches, he could emerge as one of Allen's favorite targets and ensure the Bills' passing attack doesn't backslide in 2024.
