Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Week 1 of Buffalo Bills training camp is in the book at St. John Fisher University with the final practice of the week taking place Friday in Pittsford.

For the first time in several years, the offseason for the Bills featured a substantial amount of turnover with familiar names departing, and fresh new faces beginning to establish themselves on the team. This included a number of past leaders of the team exiting like wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, center Mitch Morse, cornerback Tre'Davious White, and safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer.

Through it all, the most important piece to the puzzle, quarterback Josh Allen, continues to lead the group in Buffalo, as aspirations of a Super Bowl continue to remain strong within the group.

"Josh has been extraordinary in a lot of areas for this football team," said Bills head coach Sean McDermott while appearing on the "Jeremy and Joe Show" on WGR this Friday. "Leadership, when you're young and you're learning how to lead, it continues to grow along the way."

McDermott says Allen's leadership over the years has been extraordinary both on and off the field. With the losses of several leadership pieces this offseason, McDermott feels that Allen has taken that challenge head-on.

"This is what a leader does," McDermott said with Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase. "I've seen that since the spring, the start of the spring and then into the break. And now in the first couple of days of training camp, the practices here that we've had, he's been phenomenal on the field, phenomenal with his intent to get on the same page with the offensive players."
