Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Alec Anderson was hospitalized Tuesday after suffering symptoms of a heat-related illness at practice, the team announced. The Bills medical staff, general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott spoke with Anderson by phone after he left training camp in an ambulance and "he was in good spirits," according to the team. The team said Anderson, 24, is expected to be released from the hospital later in the afternoon. The Bills hold training camp at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, N.Y. According to AccuWeather, temperatures were expected to reach a high of 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity there Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Anderson is in his third season with Buffalo after going undrafted out of UCLA in 2022. He has yet to appear in a regular-season game. --Field Level Media
