Volunteers Visit Baxter Farm To Rescue Food
The Society of Saint Andrews gathered a group of volunteers Friday to visit Baxter farm to rescue waste food. Waste food consists of crops that are thrown away because they did not sell or have imperfections. Society of Saint Andrews Program Coordinator Cecelie Eiler said the food being thrown away can be eaten by people who battle hunger.
Cookeville Will Apply For 3rd Spring St Grant
Cookeville will apply for a new multi-modal grant to complete the next phase of the Spring Street Sidewalk project. This section would include sidewalks from Carlen Drive to the Saxony Development. Phase one of the project has been completed while phase two is expected to bid this fall. Community Development Director Jon Ward said the project began with a T-DOT grant application in 2014.
