Man indicted in woman’s death
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A Kanawha County grand jury handed down an indictment against a man charged with the shooting death of a Charleston woman in December 2023. Dominick Gray, of Columbus, was indicted on July 26 on charges of first degree murder, using a gun during a felony, malicious wounding and being a convicted felon with a gun.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Kanawha County man faces a 10 year minimum sentence after he was convicted of federal robbery and firearms charges, prosecutors say. Camri Calrissian White, 25, of Cross Lanes, was convicted on charges of robbery, shooting a firearm during a violent crime and being a felon in possession of a gun in connection to the robbery of a convenience store in his hometown in July 2023, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of West Virginia.
Vehicle crashes in Blue Creek, damages a gas line, dispatchers say
BLUE CREEK, W.Va. (WCHS) — A vehicle crash has damaged a gas line in the Blue Creek area of Kanawha County, dispatchers say. Reports of the crash came in at about 7:45 p.m. along Elk River Road where a vehicle hit another parked car, breaking a gas line that ran through the area. Emergency services have responded to the scene.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - We’re catching a break in the humidity at just the right time, given an upcoming evening full of concerts and a weekend full of fairs and festivals. The hazy clouds and fog that hung around this morning will burn off to a better bluish tint to the afternoon skies. For most of this past week we’ve been stifled by the ever-present humidity, but when mapping the actual rainfall from it many were still left wanting in this spreading drought scenario we’ve been dealing with. Now that we have the sunshine with low humidity, we’ll try to enjoy the weather without feeling too much guilt. Highs will reach the upper 80s, but the northerly breeze will help at least a little. The weather will be wonderful this evening and overnight, as the setting sun will quickly allow temperatures to fall through the 70s and 60s. Campers may need the long sleeves Saturday morning, as the upper 50s will start appearing in the hollows for the first time in a while.
