LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — A 67-year-old man from Bullhead City, Arizona, died Wednesday in an apparent accidental drowning in the Colorado River.

Bullhead City emergency crews were called to the area of 1200 Riverfront Drive — about two miles southwest of casinos in Laughlin, on the Arizona side of the river — for a report of a possible drowning just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to information from the Bullhead City Police Department, several bystanders helped pull the man from the river. Despite efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.

Police said the drowning appeared to be accidental.

The man’s name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.

Bullhead City is about 1½ hours south of Las Vegas.
