Jeffrey Edwin Lee
Mr. Jeffrey Edwin Lee, age 58, died June 26th, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was the son of the late Earl Morgan Lee and Donna Earheart Lee. Jeffrey was a resident of Pinehurst Manor in Statesboro for many years and became a resident of Eagle Health and Rehab in July of 2023. Jeffrey has no known family, only the staff and residence of Pinehurst Manor and Eagle Health and Rehab. A graveside service and burial will be Friday July 5, 2024, at 11:00am at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Jody Bryant officiating. All are invited to attend. Friends may sign the online register book at www.joineranderson.com. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.

An undercover operation of the Millen Police Department’s Millen Internet Suppression Team (MIST) resulted in the arrest of a Bulloch County man on June 14. Skyler Michael Helverson is charged with Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes felony, Computer or Electronic Pornography- felony, and Electronically Furnishing Obscene Material to Minors-misdemeanor. Fatal single vehicle crash closes Hwy. 46 in Bulloch County
A fatal single vehicle crash on Hwy. 46 in Bulloch County led to a temporary closure of the road between Old Register Way and Sinkhole Road. According to GSP a 74 year old man died in the crash. Based on the preliminary investigation they think he may have had a medical episode leading to the crash. He was the only occupant in the vehicle. GSP Corporal Aaron Ramirez is handling the crash investigation. Bulloch County Deputy Coroner Chuck Francis also responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. Firecracker Fest is still on for Saturday evening at Mill Creek Park
UPDATE 8:15 pm - Mill Creek Regional Park has been re-opened. It is safe to enter the park. At 7:30 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2024 lightening alarms went off at Mill Creek Regional Park the location of the 2024 Firecracker Fest. Events were paused temporarily and guests were asked to return to their cars as a safety precaution. Tragic accident claims life of pedestrian on Highway 301 South
A man tragically lost his life after being struck by a car while attempting to cross U.S. Highway 301 South on Friday evening outside of Statesboro, GA in Bulloch County. The incident occurred around 9:14 p.m. near Buddy's Truck Stop, located at 8741 South U.S. Highway 301. Bulloch County 911 quickly dispatched multiple emergency units to the scene, including Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies, Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Troopers, Bulloch County EMS, and Bulloch County Fire.
