Commissioners postpone vote on water agreements with Bryan County
Bulloch County Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 for a special meeting to vote on the approval of memorandum of understandings (MOU) with Bryan County on two issues related to wells being drilled in Bulloch County to provide water to the Hyunda Metaplant America in Bryan County. One of the MOU's is related to providing water and sewer services to each other according to negotiated terms and conditions. The second creates a Well Mitigation Program between Bulloch County and Bryan County. Bulloch Academy's Kellen Daly and Griffin Garvin accept appointments to West Point
Today, Congressman Rick W. Allen (GA-12) announced the names of five 12th District students who were nominated by his office and received and accepted appointments to attend one of the United States Military Service Academies. These academies include: the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York; the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland; the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, New York; and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Upon making the announcement, Congressman Allen issued the following statement: "It is a great honor of mine to have nominated these esteemed young students to receive an appointment to attend one of our nation's service academies. Through their tireless work and dedication, they have proven themselves to be leaders among their peers as they prepare to serve our nation in uniform. I wish each of them the very best and know they will represent the next generation of servicemen and women with distinction." Bulloch County Historical Society elects officers and awards scholarships
At the 50th Annual Meeting of the Bulloch County Historical Society held Monday, the society elected new officers for the upcoming year. GBI investigates OIS, reckless driving investigation
STATESBORO – The GBI is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred while reporting on calls of gunfire and reckless driving. At the request of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, GBI agents are investigating an officer involved shooting in Statesboro, GA. One man, identified as Robert Allen Bostic, age 25, of Warner Robins, Georgia, died in the incident. No officers were injured.
