FAA Greenlights New Las Vegas Area Airport
Plans to break ground on a new Las Vegas airport are progressing following the FAA’s recent approval of the project. Las Vegas Executive Airport will be located some 30 miles west of Harry Reid International Airport (KLAS) and will accommodate single-engine, multiengine, and rotorcraft operations. Clark County commissioners unanimously approved runway construction for the project, which is set to begin in the coming months.

An Excessive Heat Warning is issued when the heat risk reaches major or extreme levels. When the heat index reaches major levels, it means the heat could impact anyone, even those in good health. Moderate levels are more so for those who are sensitive to the heat. There can also be some impacts to infrastructure and businesses when it gets too hot. A Heat Advisory is issued when the heat risk reaches moderate levels, which is what the Lake Tahoe area is under this weekend into next week.

National Weather Service Issues Excessive Heat Warning
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning. The warning will be in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Wednesday. The areas of northern Washoe County, Western Nevada Basin and Range, Pyramid Lake, Reno, Carson City, Minden, and Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties will see temperatures near 105 degrees during the day.
