Still no answers from Plaquemine officials on high utility bills
PLAQUEMINE - The City of Plaquemine is still trying to sort out a utility problem after multiple residents complained about inaccurate and high bills. 2 On Your Side reported on the high rates at the beginning of July. City officials said the issue was resolved, but residents lined up at the podium with their bills on Tuesday night during a special meeting called by Mayor Ed Reeves, who was not in attendance.

Fat Boy Phillies brings soul food to Southland Mall with new restaurant location
A Houma-based food truck has branched out with a second location inside Southland Mall. Fat Boy Phillies opened a restaurant inside the mall Friday, July 12. The restaurant is where Chick-Fil-A used to be, next to Pocket Change. It was opened by K.J. Townsend, a Houma chef. More than 40 people were waiting Friday to place their first orders.
