The response to the incident was prompt by the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District.

With the holiday scheduling currently underway Silver Dollar City typically does not open its doors officially until 1 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. However they typically do have a soft open which allows guests to enter the park up to an hour early and await the official rope drop in the main gazebo and downtown area. Guests had began to enter the park at this time and were only 15 minutes away from the official opening when the incident broke out.

Fortunately for guests and staff alike, the prompt response resulted in no injuries and minimal damages. While the park did close for the day they are set to reopen tomorrow without incident but do encourage guests to check online before coming out in case further action needed to be taken.

At this time, no cause of the fire has been determined or released, however some guests mentioned that the fire began after what sounded like a small explosion. More details will be likely released in coming days.

Silver Dollar City is a beloved theme park located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains. Celebrating their 60th Anniversary this year, the park has welcomed guests with their family friendly environment over the decades.

Each year from November to New Years Day the park welcomes guests for their holiday festivities. These special festivities include Broadway style shows, a nightly Christmas tree lighting, seasonal favorites and treats and the Midtown area which boasts more than 6.5 Million Christmas Lights.
