Pittsburgh Airport Security Halts Travel Flow After Woman Brings Loaded Gun in Carry-On
Early on Friday morning, a routine security procedure at Pittsburgh International Airport turned urgent as Transportation Security Administration officers intercepted a loaded gun in a passenger's carry-on. WPXI detailed that the 9mm firearm, containing 10 bullets, was discovered inside a Pittsburgh woman's bag during the security screening at the primary checkpoint, disrupting the flow of travel during a particularly busy time. Citing TSA's Federal Security Director for the airport, Karen Keys-Turner, "Travelers need to pay more attention to the items that they have inside their carry-on bags," and emphasized the severity of the security violation and the potential for a hefty civil penalty faced by the individual, as reported by WPXI.

Yesterday's evening commute on a Pittsburgh parkway turned violent when a shooting incident, believed to be an act of road rage, left a 60-year-old man critically injured. According to the City of Pittsburgh Police blotter, officers were dispatched at around 6:50 p.m. to the vicinity of Exit 69A/I-376W, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the eye in his vehicle.

Wellsburg welcomes with new signs showcasing town pride and festivals
In an effort to make Wellsburg more aesthetic and give back to the community, the Wellsburg Kiwanis Club installed three brand new welcome signs at all entrances of the town. “We've noticed different things around town and projects, so we saw the signs needed a little updating,” said Eric Fithyan, president, Wellsburg Kiwanis Club. “So our volunteers painted the post, and we have a sign company donate the signs to Wellsburg.”
