Hi-Liners Musical Theatre (HMT) is inviting everyone to experience the magic of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical‘ July 26-28 and August 2-4 at the Highline Performing Arts Center.

In the spirit of the show’s main character Matilda – whose love of reading helps her overcome the challenges in her life – HMT will be hosting a book fundraiser during the performances. Attendees will have the option to donate funds at the show that will allow teachers to purchase books at various elementary schools in the Highline School District.

“Hi-Liners Musical Theatre has always been committed to enriching our community through the performing arts,” said Kathleen Edwards, HMT artistic director. “With Matilda’s story highlighting the transformative power of books, we felt inspired to encourage literacy and support our local schools through this book fundraiser.”

Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, ‘Matilda the Musical‘ tells the inspiring tale of Matilda Wormwood, a young girl whose love for books helps her navigate and overcome the challenges in her life. Her passion for reading not only fuels her imagination but also empowers her to change her destiny.

“We’re excited to see our audiences come together to support students right here in our community,” adds Edwards. “By helping us raise funds for books, you can help inspire a new generation of readers and learners, much like Matilda herself.”
