The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking witnesses to a drive-by shooting that occurred on westbound SR 518 near Des Moines Memorial Drive in Burien on the evening of Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Troopers said that at approximately 7:15 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was received from an individual reporting that their vehicle had been shot at while driving on SR 518.

The victim, who was not injured, stated they were driving a white Toyota Tundra and encountered a newer silver Chevy Tahoe blocking the road. After honking to prompt the Tahoe to move, the victim attempted to pass, at which point the driver of the Tahoe allegedly fired a round, striking the hood of the Tundra.

Troopers discovered an entry point and exit point in the hood of the victim’s white Toyota Tundra.

The Tahoe then sped away, and the victim was unable to obtain its license plate number.

The suspect is described as a heavyset white male, possibly in his mid-thirties.

Troopers examined the victim’s vehicle and confirmed bullet entry and exit points in the hood.

WSP detectives are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Russ Haake at Russ.Haake@wsp.wa.gov.
