Fort Worth to again annex acreage in Denton County, near Texas Motor Speedway
Fort Worth, known as where the West begins, plans to keep expanding its footprint to the north — by adding more acreage in Denton County. On Sept. 17, Fort Worth City Council is expected to consider annexing more than 9 acres for right-of-way access for Dale Earnhardt Way near the Texas Motor Speedway. The site, a triangular area north of State Highway 114 and west of Interstate 35 West, is within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Fort Worth.
