Deleon man ejected, killed during foggy road rollover wreck

DELEON, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – A Deleon man was ejected and killed during a foggy road rollover wreck last week.

Larry James Herron III, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on State Highway 206 just north of Burkett around 7:00 a.m. Friday, according to a crash report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The report states Herron was driving in heavy fog and was, “operating [his] car too fast for the visibility and roadway conditions.”

When the road curved, Herron drove straight and left the road then attempted to overcorrect, causing his vehicle to skid into a ditch and overturn.

Herron, who the report states was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected upon impact.
