The Washington Chamber of Commerce has welcomed three new members. Northside Diner, East Washington Auto Wash, and Walmart. Northside Diner is only open for lunch, but they are soon opening for dinner too: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday:10:30 am-3:00 pm. They are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. East Washington Auto Wash is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and Walmart has all of your household or outdoor items and groceries. Longtime Hawkeye commit, freshman Callie Levin finally gets to join Iowa roster
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Solon graduate Callie Levin committed to Iowa in August, 2021-before she even started her sophomore year of high school. She grew up just down the road from Iowa City, her father works in the compliance department at the university, and she still has an autographed Samantha Logic basketball from when she was in elementary school.
United Red Storm Volleyball Goes (1-1) in Summer Scrimmage
The United Red Storm volleyball program hosted a 3-team scrimmage at the Fieldhouse at United High School on July 19th. The Red Storm joined the Monmouth-Roseville Titans and Macomb Bombers for a day of varsity and JV action. The Red Storm went (1-1) on the day, defeating Monmouth-Roseville and losing to the Bombers in the finale. The final night of racing at Davenport Speedway before the Mississippi Valley Fair is usually an intense one, such was the case again this season. For the first time this year, the Outhouse and Storage to Go Container Rentals IMCA Late Model class had a back-to-back feature winner. Evan Miller started in the fourth row and would not see the lead until lap twenty-two of the main.
