BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman is facing an assault charge for allegedly firing shots while driving after leaving a bar, the Burlington Police Department says.

According to a report from BPD, Tuesday morning just after midnight, a man and woman went to the police department to report a shooting. They said they were arguing with another couple at a bar on Harden Street, and, when they left, they saw the couple while they were driving.

The suspects allegedly began shooting from their car on Hanover Road and again on North Church Street. No injuries were reported.

The suspect vehicle was later found on North Church Street where officers say they found a rifle in the back seat.

The driver, Alana Doutt, 25, from Burlington, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She was arrested while the man she was with ran away.

Doutt was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center and given a $100,000 bond.
