Northern Forest Canoe Trail makes improvements to Valcour Island trails
Peru, NY – A multi-year effort to restore camping and paddling infrastructure on Lake Champlain’s historic Valcour Island continued this summer, with stewardship crews rebuilding a boardwalk along a cross-island hiking trail. The work was performed by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) stewardship crew and community volunteers, in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and with support from a Lake Champlain Basin Program grant. The NFCT’s stewardship crew consists of professional staff and three interns.
Police say probable remains of missing Enosburgh woman found
ENOSBURGH, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say they have found the probable remains of Roberta Martin, 82, of Enosburgh, who went missing last week. Vermont State Police say they found what are believed to be Martin’s remains in a wooded area off Sand Hill Road around 11 a.m. Sunday, not far from her home.

Police say they found what they believed to be Martin’s remains in a wooded area off Sand Hill Road around 11a.m. Sunday.
