The Friends of Inks Lake (FOIL) will be holding a Big Clean Up day on Saturday, June 8, and the public is invited join the fun.

FOIL is a group of dedicated volunteers working to promote interest in the natural sciences and conservation.

Their goal is to help the public have fun and appreciate the natural and cultural resources at Inks Lake State Park.

The group assists Inks Lake State Park staff in cleaning up the lake and park trails. This involves weed eating, trimming limbs, painting, and marking trails.

This is a great time for the public to jump on board and make a difference. Volunteers can arrive at 9 a.m. Saturday in the maintenance area for the morning clean-up.

Entry is free to all volunteers, cold drinks and lunch will be provided for all that attend the event.

Bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and closed toed shoes are best.

The venue is located at 3630 Park Road 4 West. Call 512-793-2223 for more information or visit tpwd.texas. gov or email FOIL, friendsofinks@ yahoo.com.
