AARP awards grants to 7 Oklahoma organizations
AARP has chosen seven organizations in Oklahoma to receive its 2024 Community Challenge grants. These grants provide funding for projects that help improve public places, transportation, housing and digital connections, as well as other areas. In particular, these projects focus on supporting the needs of adults ages 50 and older.

Situated at the crossroads of the Choctaw Nation in Durant, Oklahoma, Big Lots' 1.2 million square foot distribution center serves 235 stores within a network of more than 1,300 stores across 48 states. Big Lots is a large national discount retailer, providing everything from furniture to food, as well as household goods and seasonal décor.
Another Texas Megachurch Pastor Is Stepping Down, Cites Moral Failings
There's been a peculiar series of megachurch controversies occurring over the last few months. First, Tony Evans. Then, Robert Morris. Now, it's Tony Cammarota, who's stepping down as pastor of Texas' Stonebriar Community Church. Per NBC, the church terminated Cammarota after he "confessed to church leadership of a moral failure. National Democratic group focusing on two Oklahoma legislative races this fall
A national organization, charged with electing Democratic lawmakers to state legislatures, announced it was spotlighting two Oklahoma races this year. The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee said it was targeting Erin Brewer in Senate District 47 and Chaunté Gilmore in House District 100. "These strong Democratic candidates provide opportunities to flip competitive seats and combat the GOP majorities in the House and Senate," the organization said in a media statement.
