Pierogi Fest celebrates 30 years of Polish culture in Whiting, Indiana this weekend
Whiting's famous " Pierogi fest" kicks off this weekend. The festival begins this Friday, Jul 26 and runs through Sunday, July 28 in downtown Whiting Indiana.It is known as "The Wackiest Festival in the Midwest". ‘Little Library' in NW Indiana blown up by fireworks, suspects sought
Police in Highland, Indiana, were asking for the public's assistance in locating the individuals who blew up a "Little Library" at a neighborhood park this past weekend. At around 12:24 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to Brantwood Park, where an unknown person had used a firework to blow up the "Little Library" at the corner of Lincoln Street and Woodward Avenue, the Highland Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Unlicensed Driver from Honduras Cited After Crash
(La Porte County, IN) - There were no injuries in a single vehicle crash in La Porte County by an unlicensed driver from another country. According to La Porte County Police, the investigation shows the 24 year old man was traveling in a road construction zone on U.S. 20 near 300 West when he veered off the highway and struck a tree on Friday. That stretch of highway is down to one lane in each direction because of the road work.

CHICAGO — Car burglars are targeting cars parked along or near Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park, Bucktown, and Logan Square, police said Monday. The thieves have been breaking side windows to get inside the vehicles. The thieves then proceed to steal any valuable items they find inside the cars.
