Approved 2025 budget represents $1.3 million increase over 2024
LANSING, Ill. (July 23, 2024) – The Village Board has given final approval to an ordinance that establishes a budget and appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025. The ordinance was approved by a vote of 5-0 (with Trustee Leo Valencia absent) at the Village Board’s July 16 meeting, which followed a public hearing on the matter that included a presentation by Finance Director Brian Hanigan.

Two men rob Crystal Lake residents at gunpoint
Two Crystal Lake residents arrived at the 6100 block of West Roosevelt Road on July 15 to buy an item for sale from two men. One of the men displayed a black handgun with an extended magazine and stole money from the victims. The men then fled in an unknown direction. The estimated loss is $4,500.

Humidity continues to build through an otherwise mostly quiet day, making conditions feel sticky as you step out the door this morning. Expect partly cloudy skies today with highs in the mid 80s and another slight chance for showers and/or thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. As a cold front begins to move in from the north late tonight, more isolated thunderstorms will develop and move from the northwest to the southeast across our area. Expect scattered showers and storms on Wednesday into the late afternoon/early evening until the cold front has passed our area later that night, leaving behind partly cloudy skies and lows in the low 60s. No severe weather is expected tonight or tomorrow, although some brief downpours are possible. Sunny skies and less humid air await Michiana Thursday and Friday.
