Trinkle Brass Works to host free ‘Cowboy Overtures’ concert at Casper College
CASPER, Wyo. — The Trinkle Brass Works and Portable Masterpieces will perform a concert titled “Cowboy Overtures” at Casper College’s Wheeler Hall next month. According to a release from the ensemble, the performance on Saturday, Aug. 3 will feature “a unique take on longtime favorites and non-traditional fare,” bringing the sights, sounds and style of cowboy life and western culture in Wyoming.
Lander Golfer at UW named an All-America Scholar
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2023-24 season on Thursday and the University of Wyoming men's golf team led the Mountain West and was one of 25 teams in America to have five or more All-America Scholars. The five Cowboys named All-America Scholars are: Patrick Azevedo of Osello, Wash.; Jaren Calkins of Lander, Wyo.; Jimmy Dales of Northfield, Mich.; Kristof Panke of Davenport, Washl,; and Davis Seybert of Midland, Texas.

Meet this year’s Red Desert Rodeo Royalty
The Red Desert Roundup Rodeo will take over the Sweetwater Events Complex Grandstand Arena this Friday and Saturday night, July 26 and 27. Helping to oversee the festivities will be this year’s rodeo royalty. They are Junior Princess Ashten Folks, and Junior Princess 1st Attendant is Kennedy Kleinlein. Both won their honors at this year’s Red Desert Roundup Rodeo Queen pageant which was held October 15, 2024, in Rock Springs.
Laramie To Spray Rural Areas For Mosquitoes On Friday
The City of Laramie Mosquito Control has scheduled a spraying of Dibrom for rural areas near the city on Friday. The application of the pesticide is slated for around 6:30 p.m., weather permitting. If the weather does not allow for the spraying, backup dates of Saturday through Monday have been scheduled.

Wyoming Legion Baseball Standings Update: July 25, 2024

Construction underway at former Ranch Inn site
JACKSON, Wyo. — For those wondering why there’s a pile of rubble where the Ranch Inn used to be, a mixed-use condominium and retail building is going up in its place. Construction is underway at the 1.2-acre parcel on Pearl Avenue that includes the addresses of 50 S Cache St and 45 and 75 E Pearl Ave. Three buildings on the block have been demolished, including the Ranch Inn Hotel, the Ranch shops retail building at the corner of Cache and Pearl and the Under the Willow art gallery, which was adjacent to the alley on the block along Cache.
