BUILDINGS ON WEST MAHONING STREET CONTINUES
The demolition of buildings on West Mahoning Street continues to make way for the new IUP Academy of Culinary Arts. Today’s Punxsutawney Spirit reports, that the project, managed by the Department of General Services, is expected to be completed by March 2025. The Spirit adds Punxsutawney Borough Manager Dr. William Spencer also discussed a downtown streetscape project, which will occur in three phases. Phase one will focus on installing lampposts, possibly with solar power and embossed groundhog designs. Future phases will involve sidewalk improvements, utility line work, and other enhancements.
