Better Cancer Screening Bill Signed

Hawaii Fluid Art opens in Noblesville
Hawaii Fluid Art, a new art studio that offers classes in fluid art canvas painting, resin tumbler painting and more, opened Aug. 10 at 13185 Harrell Pkwy. in Noblesville. According to franchise owners Siân and Oliver Schmidt, a married couple who live in Carmel, the new studio is the first Hawaii Fluid Art franchise in Indiana.

Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) is pleased to announce the promotion of two key executives in their leadership team. Mathew (Matt) Reed has been promoted to Vice President of IT. Matt’s leadership has been instrumental in the growth and innovation within Purdue Federal’s IT department. He has taken ownership of the Digital Banking platform and has significantly enhanced the credit union's data utilization across all business lines. Additionally, Matt played a crucial role in the successful core system conversion that Purdue Federal underwent in 2023. Matt graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and earned his MBA from Purdue in 2011. In 2004, Matt began his career as a software engineer at Med Institute (now Cook Research). In 2013, he transitioned into management overseeing the Data Management team at Cook. Matt joined Purdue Federal in 2016 as the Manager of the IT Business Solutions team. He then became AVP of the same team in 2018.

Urgent Need: Special Olympics Indiana Seeks Coaches
Special Olympics Indiana urgently needs more coaches to support their expanding roster of athletes. Humans have a fundamental need to be around other humans. As a child, I don't think there was any greater emotional pain than being excluded from an activity or game with peers. It's a sting that lingers, and one that can really ding your self-worth. Inclusion matters, as highlighted in the Special Olympics mission statement. The organization has been empowering athletes for decades, specifically those with intellectual disabilities. However, to do that, they need community support and, of course, athletic coaches.
