Methamphetamine crackdown in Port Huron nets 5 suspects
PORT HURON, Mich. – Two drug investigations in St. Clair County resulted in five people being arrested within two days in Port Huron. The first arrests took place on Aug. 6 at a residence located near the intersection of Seventh and Pine streets. According to authorities, a search warrant led to the discovery of “a dealer’s quantity of crystal methamphetamine,” and other paraphernalia. Two people were taken into custody.

Five arrested in Port Huron drug busts
Two recent investigations by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force led to five arrests and the seizure over 20 grams of methamphetamine and analogue pills, officials said. On Aug. 6, the DTF concluded an investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the city of Port Huron with the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 1000 block of 7th Street. Upon executing the warrant, Matthew Fields, 36, and Kaylee Rataj, 21, both of Port Huron, were located inside the residence and taken into custody. During the search, a dealer’s quantity of crystal methamphetamine, as well as analogue pills, packaging material and narcotics paraphernalia, were located.

Two investigations led to five arrests last week for the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, as well as the seizure of over 20 grams of methamphetamine and analogue pills. The task force concluded an investigation last Tuesday, August 6, into the sale of methamphetamine in Port Huron, executing a search warrant at a home on the 1000 block of 7th Street. While executing the warrant, two Port Huron residents, 36-year-old Matthew Fields and 21-year-old Kaylee Rataj, were found in the home and taken into custody, eventually being taken to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.

Michigan State point guard DeeDee Hagemann has committed to Memphis women's basketball, she confirmed to The Commercial Appeal on Tuesday. The 5-foot-7 Hagemann, who has one season of eligibility remaining, had previously committed to Ole Miss after entering the transfer portal. A second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, she led the Big Ten in assist to turnover ratio (2.84) in 2023-24. She averaged 12.3 points and 5.2 assists per game.
